5 Easy Windows 8 Tricks

With Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system just over the horizon here are 5 easy tricks you can use to get the most of of your new copy of Windows when you get your hands on it.

1. Quickly uninstall unwanted apps: With Windows 8 comes Microsoft's new Metro UI system which will give users the ability to install apps into their operating system much like you would on a smart phone. However, as we all know, uninstalling programs can sometimes be difficult in Windows. With Windows 8 users will have the ability to simply right click on any installed app and click uninstall, which will cause the app the disappear. No need to go through dozens of windows and confirmations any longer.

2. Easy access to Administrative features: No longer will you have to search through menus or remember commands to access many of Windows powerful administrative tools. With Windows 8 you can simply hover your mouse over the bottom left corner of the screen. This will bring up a list of the commonly used administrative functions such as the device manager and the command prompt.

3. Easy system restoration: In the past when you would muck something up on your PC it would mean countless hours of reinstalling software and copying files. With Windows 8 makes recovering from such an event much easier than before with it's new system restore functions. From the PC settings menu you can access feature called "Refresh" that sets your system back to it's default settings without losing any of your important files. You will still have to reinstall programs, but this feature will cut down the time and hassle needed to do a system restore down by a great deal.

4. Easy program launching: With Windows 8's brand new Metro UI setup you can launch any program on your computer by simply typing. No more need to find the program in your programs folder, or even click anything. Just type want you want and it will open, it really is that easy. You don't even need to click on a search bar or anything, Windows 8 can pick up what you are typing from anywhere and use that to access the program you want to use. With the use of custom settings you can truly bring out the power of this feature to save time and energy. For example if you are watching a movie and decide to find out more about the director you can just reach over to your keyboard and type "Google" and your web browser would open up with Google all ready to go for you.

5. Easy screen shots. In past versions of windows taking screen shots was a pain. You would have to hit Print Screen and then paste the image into a image editor before saving it for use. With Windows 8 all you have to do is hit the Print Screen and Windows key together and Windows 8 will automatically save the image in .png format straight into your images folder. It's that easy!
