Disable Start Screen animation in Windows 8.1

Switch to the Start Screen from the Windows 8 Desktop, and you will notice the animation where the Tiles slide and start appearing from the right to the left side. It looks cool and classy, but some do not like it this way, think it takes a bit of time and want to change its behavior. If you are one who does not like animations and wants Tiles, menus, etc, to be displayed instantly, then this post is sure to interest you, as it shows you how you can disable Windows 8 start screen animations.

If you want you can disable this Start Screen animation. To do so, from the WinX Menu, open Control Panel and click on the System applet.

On the right side, you will see System protection. Click on it. In the System Properties box which opens, select the Advanced tab, and click on the Performance Settings button.

In the Performance Options box, uncheck Animate controls and elements inside Windows. Click Apply and Exit. This will disable Start Screen animation in Windows 8.1.

Now visit the Start Screen from your desktop, and see how quickly and instantly the Tiles get displayed!
