How To Skip Start Menu and Directly Boot to Desktop In Windows 8.1

Windows 8 introduced a lot of things and also made a lot of changes in its updated version of Windows 8.1. The major thing that Microsoft acknowledged is that it gave the users a choice to directly boot to desktop in windows 8.1, I don’t know when was the last time Microsoft acknowledged users opinion.

Directly Boot to Desktop In Windows 8.1

# All you have to do is to right-click on the taskbar -> select & click on properties.

# This will open up the ‘Taskbar and Navigation properties’ window where you have to navigate to ‘Navigation’ tab.

# Here check the check box ‘When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to desktop instead of Start’, Click Apply & Ok to save the changes.

That’s all there is to do, and the above action will ensure you that you’ll directly boot to desktop instead of start screen in windows 8.1.
